BBC ONE aired this special Doctor Who 'scene' as part of their 2005 Children in Need charity appeal on Friday the 18th November 2005.
The scene lasted for around seven minutes and was aired just after 9PM, it was set immediately after the regeneration of the Doctor at the end of 'The Parting of the Ways' (series 1, episode 13).
It is available online for a limited period on the official BBC Children in Need website here where you can also make a donation to this worthy charity.
The 2005 Christmas special is the first full-length episode starring David Tennant and runs to approximately one hour (normal episodes are approximately 45 minutes in length).
The episode is the cornerstone of the BBC ONE Christmas day schedules and is expected to perform well against all opposition.
At the time of writing the final broadcast time is still subject to change but we have been led to believe by official sources that it will probably be 7pm.
See the full synopsis below for further details.
In her travels with The Doctor Rose Tyler has seen all sorts of things, nanogenes, Gelth, Slitheen; but now she has seen her friend, The Doctor, explode and change before her eyes into a complete stranger.
Who is he, has someone replaced him with a teleport or a transmat or a bodyswap? What does the stranger want and, most importantly of all could he really be a Slitheen?

The TARDIS crash lands on Earth close to Rose's home. Jackie Tyler and Mickey hear the TARDIS and race across the estate to where it has landed.
The doors open and out steps Rose and a complete stranger - except it isn't a stranger - it's the Doctor.
Disorientated, yet overwhelmed to see them, he takes a few minutes to regain his balance. "Oh! I know! Merry Christmas!" he yells, before loosing consciousness, with Rose and Jackie powerless to help him.
In a bid to boost Rose's spirits, Mickey suggests a spot of Christmas shopping. A good plan - until they find themselves under attack.
However, they are not the only ones with problems. Prime Minister Harriet Jones has just been informed that a British space probe, on its way to Mars for a Christmas Day landing, has gone missing.
It has been kidnapped by a monstrous race known as the Sycorax, who are set on taking over the world and who is there to stop them?
